The CordKeep'r® Story

How did the CordKeep'r come to be?

Frustrated by traditional cord containment devices (specifically rubber bands, Velcro strips, cable ties, and paper twist ties), Mike felt there had to be a better solution for keeping his laptop cords and cables in a neat manner.

One evening, unable to sleep and thinking about a possible solution, Mike realized that a simple, yet elegant device could be made to solve the cord mess that was so frustrating. Mike rose from his bed and immediately sketched out the design for the small size CordKeep'r. His initial rendering was remarkably close to the final manufactured product.

Encouraged by family and friends, Mike decided to proceed with his invention, and so applied for a patent on January 2, 2001. Once he received his patent, Mike has worked to ensure that the CordKeep'r would become available to the general public at an affordable price. When you order a package of CordKeep'rs from this web site you are ordering directly from the manufacturer.

Mike King was awarded U.S. Patent #6,425,543 on July 30, 2002 for his innovative cord management system, the CordKeep'r.

December 24, 2002 Mike was issued an additional U.S. Patent #6,497,382 for the CordKeep'r.

Mike continues to devise new ideas for everyday useful items that can help individuals solve common problems.
